Reduction of waste in furan molding process from cast iron foundry
It is observed that the major waste in foundry process are MRT lumps (29%), MRT dust (22%), shot blast heavy metal waste (16%), and shake out dust extraction system (11%). Altogether, these contribute to ∼ 80% of total waste sand generation in the foundry. Among the major waste contributors, most of the WFS are from the molding process.
