This will be the same for a fly cutter. Can they be cut with say an 1/8 inch end mill or will the "root" or where the spline ends induce such a stress that the shaft will fail right where the splines start. Also, If I explore grinding them won't the grinding wheel change shape during the grind and make it a bear to keep a set profile.
